What qualifies as a hardship?
The definition of hardship may be different depending on who you ask. However the government clearly defines hardship as a documented life event that has forced you to deplete all of your finances leaving you unable to make your mortgage payment. As long as you’ve proven legitimate hardship, you may be able to qualify for a loan modification and prevent foreclosure.
